Parri was born in May 1999 in Kokkola, Northern Finland and came to England in January 2002. He was not so outgoing as our first Finnish Spitz Hilla (typical Finnish reserve!) but had a lovely gentle nature. His father was a Finnish dual champion (Ukkometon Riki), and his mother a Finnish hunting champion (Utu)
Parri sired 3 litters in the UK, including Hilla's first one in 2002. One of the 6 puppies in that litter was our Ch. Valokki Helmi.
Parri never enjoyed being in the show ring, but in his 4th ever show at the age of almost 14 and a half, he won the Veteran Dog class in the Finnish Spitz Society's Open Show held on 26th October 2013. Breed specialist Judge Mrs Hannah Thompson commented in her critique that he "could really teach the youngsters a thing or two about soundness. Despite not being overly enthusiastic he was step perfect ...."
Sadly we had to say goodbye to Parri on 10th April 2014 when he was almost 15 years old. He spent over 12 lovely years with us and will be greatly missed. Thanks to Aimo Kerola (Tihun kennel near Kokkola Finland) for breeding such a special dog.
