In May 2004 we imported a new dog Pepi from Finland. He was bred by Mr. Aimo Kerola (who also bred Parri) and was born in January 1999. His father was a Finnish dual champion (Ukko), and his mother a Finnish Show champion (Jahti-Impan Assi). Pepi passed way at the grand old age of almost 15 and a half on 17th June 2014.
Before he left Finland, Pepi won 2 Reserve CCs. His eyes and elbows were tested on 19th November 2003 in Finland under the Finnish Kennel Club's PEVISA scheme. Results were:
Eyes: No evidence of inherited eye diseases (NAD)
Elbows: Healthy (patella luxation med. 0/0)
Pepi was a great character and very playful and inquisitive! He was a lovely mixture of the typical breed characteristics such as alert, curious, lively, stubborn, and independent - but at the same time very affectionate. Pepi was jointly owned with Steve and Alison Piearce of Sukunimi Finnish Spitz and lived with them in South Wales. He was 5 years old when he left Finland and spent short spells in England and Scotland before moving to Wales where he spent his last 9 years.
Pepi sired several litters including one with Hilla in 2005 in which Valokki Amalia was one of the 6 puppies. Pepi has left children and / or grandchildren in Finland, England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.
