We are very pleased that Ch Valokki Sampo (known as Sami) gave birth to her first litter of 4 puppies (2 boys, 2 girls) on the afternoon of 23rd May 2023, a few days earlier than we had expected.  Sami is 6 years old and is the daughter of Ch Valokki Pipari (Pippa).  Mother and daughter are both owned by Christine and Alun and live with them in Kent.

Just 3 weeks after our tragic loss of his mother Suvi, Valokki Lakritsi (known as Laku) came back to us in mid January 2023 after leaving us at the age of 8 weeks.  He was just under 9 months old when he returned.  He is a very friendly young boy but in need of quite a bit of training and socialisation.

We were absolutely devastated to lose our lovely young girl Valokki Suvituuli (known as Suvi) following a tragic road accident on Christmas Eve 24/12/2022.   She was only 3 and a half years old.  She gave birth to her litter of 4 puppies on 18/04/2022, just 3 months after winning her first CC and BoB at the Manchester Championship Show on 23/01/2022.  She will be greatly missed by us and many others.

We are very pleased to say that Suvi (Valokki Suvituuli) gave birth to her first litter of 4 puppies (2 boys & 2 girls) on Easter Monday 18th April 2022.  All are doing well. The father is a young Finnish import dog known as Theo (Saisaaren Salmiakki Via Valokki).  Please read our Puppy Info page before contacting us.

On Friday 11th March 2022, Pippa (Ch Valokki Pipari) was Best Finnish Spitz Bitch at Crufts for the third time running! - i.e. 2019, 2020, and 2022 as the 2021 show was cancelled because of Covid.  This year she was also Best Veteran  After winning her 3rd CC she is now a Champion.  The judge at Crufts 2022 was Mr. Jeff Horswell.  Pippa is owned by Christine and Alun and was bred by Irene and shown by her for all 3 Crufts appearances.

At Manchester Ch Show held on 23rd January 2022 under Swedish judge Mr  Dan Ericsson:

Valokki Suvituuli (Suvi) won her first CC and was Best of Breed.

Valokki Virmalised (Hannu) owned and shown by Georgina won his first Reserve CC and was Best Puppy.

At the Finnish Spitz Society's 40th Ruby Anniversary Ch Show held on 30th October 2021 several Valokki dogs and bitches took part under judge Mrs Wendy Sharman:

Valokki Suvituuli (Suvi) won her first Reserve CC.

Two 6 month old male puppies (litter brothers) were in their first show -

Valokki Virmalised (Hannu) owned by Georgina and Allan and shown by Georgina was Best Puppy and Best Junior.

Valokki Guovssahasat (Finn) owned by Katie and Daniel and shown by Daniel was Best Special Beginner.

At Houndshow 2021 on 17th July 2021, Valokki Sampo (Sami) won her 3rd CC (and 3rd BoB) under breed specialist judge Mrs Alison Piearce (Sukunimi).  In doing so, she became the first new Finnish Spitz Champion for almost 3 years.  Sami is owned by Christine and Alun and was shown at Houndshow by Irene.

We were very sad to hear that Valokki Venla Sisko, known as Venla, passed away on 20th May 2021 - exactly one month after the birth of 4 grandsons to her daughter Tilda.  Venla will be greatly missed by her owners Johanna and David, and by us.

On 30th November 2020, we imported a 15 and a half week old puppy from Finland in partnership with David & Abby Rolfe.  His Finnish name was "Saisaaren Salmiakki" and we added our kennel name as "Via Valokki" when we registered him with The Kennel Club in the UK.  Saisaaren Salmiakki Via Valokki is now owned by David & Abby Rolfe and lives with them in Somerset.  He is known as Theo.
